I’m Siobhan, or known by my students as Ms. Waldock! I am an elementary music educator based in Surrey, British Columbia. I am deeply passionate about creating meaningful and memorable experiences through culturally relevant and inclusive pedagogy. This website is a collection of current work as a teacher, and previous student work as an undergraduate and graduate student.
I completed my Bachelor of Music with Honours in Education at Western University, where I founded Choral Canada’s first student chapter, established the Don Wright Faculty of Music’s first choir council, and received the Deral Johnson Legacy Award in Choral Conducting. I then pursued a Bachelor of Education with a Minor in Environmental Education at Simon Fraser University, where I was honoured with the Carol and Gary Chapman Memorial Scholarship in Education. One of my proudest accomplishments during my undergraduate degree was winning the 2019 Canadian Music Educators Association essay competition, which led to my first academic publication in a national journal.
In 2025, my school was awarded an $18,000 grant from Musicounts’ Slaight Family Innovation Fund to purchase culturally relevant and technology-forward instruments - an initiative that holds great significance for our school community. I am currently completing my Master of Music Education at Western University, expected in Spring 2026. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my corgi, Winnie, and exploring the mountains and backroads whenever I can.

“Music gives us a language that cuts across the disciplines, helps us to see connections and brings a more coherent meaning to our world.”
